I cordially welcome you to the Information and Computer Science (ICS) Department home page. Our department was established in September 1979 and it developed and evolved over the years to become one of the active departments of the University in teaching, research, and service to the university. Moreover, the ICS department is recognized throughout the Gulf and many parts of the world for its excellence in education and research.

The department has two strong, ABET recognized, undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) programs in Computer Science and Software Engineering. We also have a well-established graduate program leading to the Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science, a joint program (MS) in Computer Networks, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering. Private sector, government, industry, and the international academic world have prodded the ultimate test of the Department's achievement, as they compete to hire its graduates.

Our excellent tradition in education, research, and public service continues because of the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students and the strong support from KFUPM, Saudi government, and industry. Our relations with industry include research collaborations, project contracts, short courses training, internships for students and faculty through summer training, and the cooperative education program.
