Research Interests

¨     Database Systems

¨      Grid Computing

¨      Data Warehousing

¨      Data Mining

I'm member of the Database and Software Engineering Research group which covers a number of diverse areas within the Computer Science arena. My own research interest within this group lies in the Data Grid and Mining subgroup.

I have recently been supervising a project which aims to aim to develop HRMS for KFUPM. Distinctive features of the application interfaces using J2EE, Database DB2 and strong referential integrity between the static, dynamic and interface definitions.

MedCare Software Application is developed for Medical & Health Care Management System is being used by around 30 medical staff member. MedCare is suitable and convenient software package for small and middle level hospitals/ medical centers. For more information about this product you can contact at ejaz_68@yahoo.com

I am also very interested in heterogeneous database systems and database systems integration. Other types of model can be translated into the canonical form and merged on the basis of a mapping that needs to provided by an analyst. Translation from the merged model is then possible by the use of rules to various other formats.

Another area of growing interest to me is that of co-operative working and workflow modelling. Some excellent work in this area was carried project and this sparked my interest. I have developed some sample applications using the approaches that have been recently proposed and have some undergraduate students working in the area on their final year projects. I have also recently been developing an MSc module in this field. Important work that needs to be done involves creating adaptive workflow systems and good CASE tools for defining and managing workflow systems. I hope to set up some further work in this area soon.
