• The chairman of the Registration Committee of the International Conference on Information and Computer Science (ICICS2004).

• A member of the University E-learning Committee for 2 years. The committee task was to put general strategies for the applying E-learning at the University.

• A member of the admissions Committees for several years: Responsible in grading and reporting results of the exams.

• A member of the University E-learning Center committee for 2 years: Worked to establish e-learning center mission, objectives, goals and strategies.

• Worked as a member of the following departmental committees: Information, Search, Research, Continuing Education, Library, Undergraduate Curriculum, Public Relations and Industrial Relations committees.

• The chairman of the Registration Committee of The Fourth KFUPM Workshop on Information and Computer Science (WICS2002).

• A member  of the Organizing committee of WICS 2002 .

• The chairman of the Registration Committee of WICS2000.

• A member  of the Organizing committee of WICS 2000 (The Third KFUPM Workshop on Information and Computer Science).

• A member  of the Organizing committee of WICS 97 (The Second KFUPM Workshop on Information and Computer Science).

• A member of the Three-Person Executive committee of WICS 1 (The First KFUPM Workshop on Information and Computer Science). The Committee was the initiator and the organizer of the successful workshop on Machine Translation.

• A member of the Scientific committee of WICS 1.The Committee was responsible in evaluating the scientific paper of the workshop.

• The chairman of the Technical committee of WICS 1. Responsible in all technical materials including call for papers, announcements, leaflets, posters, proceedings, program, meeting halls, communication with visitors and participants and other related jobs.

• The chairman of the first industrial relations committee at the department.
