Research and Publications

My research interests are generally relatd to software engineering, specifically software architecture and the design process. I am also interested in software metrics, system analysis and design, trust modeling in peer to peer networks, database and data mining, operating systems, cryptography theory and visual programming languages.

Thesis:

  • "Measuring Architectural Stability using Retrospective Approach", Master of Science Thesis, Department of Information and Computer Science, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, 2006 (in progress).

I am working under Dr. Jarallah AlGhamdi. The objective of the thesis is to measure the stability of a system using retrospective approach. It involves studying consecutive versions of a software architecture for changes made to it. Retrospective measures can help in analyzing the evolution of the software. They can also help in improving the quality model by comparing the values obtained from predictive measures and retrospective measures. I plan to defend by the end of May 2006.
